Strawberry Cough (Kyle Kushman)

I was not prepared to learn how deep this strain goes. At one point, I was convinced this was strictly sativa. To this day, this is one of the best day smokes I've ever tried. While it's sativa tendencies keep me up and moving around, I found myself getting some pain relief which I welcomed per my job as a stagehand in and around the city I work in. Things changed when I learned that there are MANY phenotypes of SW, some are more indica than the stuff I had been getting for years. Coming from Kyle Kushman, it's crossed with Haze and Strawberry Fields (both strains are delightful but SW is the perfect marriage between the two.) As you might have guessed, Strawberry Cough has a pronounced berry/fruit/sweet scent and taste to it (dry hits of joints are as much fun as actually burning one down. Trust me.) Topping out at 21% THC, this strain can pack a punch. Used to treat PTSD, stress, and ADD, Strawberry Cough is enjoyed by smokers of all ages for all kinds of reasons. 80% saliva, folks! If you are a person on the go but need a pick me up, this is YOUR strain. Enjoy!

Deadhead OG

The indica strain, Deadhead OG, was one of the first things I sampled when I went out to Cali for a little while. It was a strain that put me on my ass almost immediately. Being one of the heaviest indices I've ever smoked, I was surprised to find out the THC content is lower than expected (20%.) It's lineage includes chem '91 and San Fernando Valley OG (both extremely enjoyable, heavy-hitting strains.) Created by Swerve at Cali Connections, this indica dominant strain has a lemony, fuel scent with pine and earthy undertones and is totally a nighttime smoke that is not for everyone. If you suffer from insomnia, chronic pain, or depression…this is the strain for you!

Exodus Kush by DNA Genetics

Exodus Kush, by DNA Genetics, is another name that can be found on the night-time smoke list. This Exodus Cheese x OG Kush is among our personal favorites here at Fear Of A Baked Planet. A balance of 60/40 in favor of indica is perfect for both new smokers and new growers. This medication starts with a classic cheese taste that moves quickly into very recognizable OG Kush flavor. Exodus Kush is used to treat such ailments as insomnia, arthritis, muscle inflammation, anxiety, and depression. Eights are priced out somewhere between $50-60 at most dispensaries. The only draw back is, once again, dry mouth. If you can find an organic, outdoor batch done well...congrats!

Kosher Kush (formerly called Jew Gold) by DNA Genetics!

The first strain blessed by a Rabbi, Kosher Kush (originally called 'Jew Gold') certainly can and will induce a spiritual or religious experience in one way or another. Crossed with OG Kush and Kosher, Kosher Kush packs a full bodied punch that only serious indica fans are prepared for when the effects kick in. While Kosher Kush has a typical OG Kush smell and taste, the buds are not as chunky as the other phenotypes of OG Kush. Musky, earthy, and fruity undertones are found in buds that have been properly taken care of by the grower. The "stoney feeling" stems from the extreme amount of THC found in this bud, which is in the excess of 29.6%. The CBN (.3%) and CBD (.7%) count don't clock in very high but then again, this isn't exactly the strain you want to smoke if you "have shit to do". While some doctors have perscribed it for hypertension, most suggest to their patients that they smoke this if they suffer from heavy anxiety, migraines, and sleep apena. Some patients have found relief in using this strain to combat PTSD, ADD, and ADHD. Other crossbreeds that have Kosher Kush in them include such heavy hitters as Holy Grail Kush, Kosher Tangie, Caramel Kush, and Chocolope Kush. If you're new to growing or a master grow, it has been suggested that you keep this one inside as it enjoys controlled climates and specified feeding, otherwise you should do well with this one! The only draw back to this strain...dry-mouth. Keep water next to your bed or couch when using this medication cause you'll need it after the nap that is in your near future. Enjoy!

This is Wildspeaker (TX)!

Every now and then, bands come along with a plan to take that sad, dismal 'everything has been done' outlook on music…and smashes it to fucking pieces. Cue Wildspeaker, a five piece hardcore band from Texas. What makes this band truly great is their ability to marry doom, crust-punk, and hardcore into a cohesive sound that surprisingly fresher and, dare I say, exciting. On tracks like 'Monochromatic' and 'Call To Arms', it's quite obvious this carries the tradition of solid doom/sludge that can only be found in southern states. The EP, Revenge of The Hunted, is a solid piece of work. It feels like being crushed to death, slowly. Wildspeaker's sound carries weight. The final track, Revenge of The Hunted, is a culmination of the brutality and simplicity Wildspeaker has to offer. Fact: Magic: The Gathering and hardcore. This is Wildspeaker!

Questions….
  1. 1. Tell me about Wildspeaker. - We are a mix of crust punk, hardcore, and doom metal. We are 'Magic: The Gathering' themed and our lyrics focus on struggles between man and nature, overall decay of life, and various stories from the MTG universe
  2. What bands are Wildspeaker listening to? we are currently jamming Fall Of Efrafa, Dystopia, Leftover Crack. Anything fast and depressing.
  3. Whats the hardcore scene like in Texas? - The hardcore scene in Texas is quite well-knit, despite having lots of cliques. Extremely supportive scenes all around. Breaking into bigger venues can be difficult as most promoters tend to book the same three bands to open the bigger shows.
  4. Favorite house/venu Warehouse in Arlington and Chichen Itza (taco shop) in Dallas
  5. How do we get your music?. We also have cds of our EP that we are able to send through the mail. Follow us on Instagram too!
